Formation

Subject + past simple verb form

I walked to school.
She ate breakfast.
They went home.

Regular vs Irregular Verbs

  • Regular verbs: Add -ed (walk > walked, play > played)
  • Irregular verbs: No fixed pattern (go > went, eat > ate, buy > bought)

Time Expressions

Common time expressions: yesterday, last week, in 2020, two days ago, when I was a child.
