Some vs Any

Both words refer to an unspecified quantity, but they are used in different sentence structures.

Generally used in affirmative (positive) sentences.

I have some apples.
She needs some water.

Exception: Use 'some' in questions when offering or requesting something.
Would you like some tea? Can I have some water?

Generally used in negative sentences and questions.

I don't have any apples. (Negative)
Do you have any questions? (Question)

If there is a "not" (n't) in the sentence, grammar requires you to use "any" instead of "some."
